Sweven Coffee, the lifelong dream of life partners Aga and Jimmy, is a specialty coffee roaster based in Bristol, born from years of experience of the two founders in the coffee world
There is a beautiful and poetic Old English word that means both “dream” and “vision”: this strange word – Sweven – perfectly represents the Bristol-based specialty coffee roaster of the same name.
Aga and Jimmy Dimitrov, partners in both work and life, come from a long relationship with coffee, spanning more than a decade. Previously, Jimmy was managing an SCA Coffee Education Campus, while at the same time managing quality control and sourcing for a big local coffee company. On the other hand, Aga used to work as the Head of Coffee for a large-sized coffee chain based in the South West. For Aga and Jimmy, those were years spent setting new and exciting goals, living amazing experiences, travelling to new and astonishing places while meeting inspiring people from every corner of the world, but all revolving toward a common centre: the world of coffee.
And then, in 2019, the decision to finally settle down in one place and start a new chapter of their life together. Combining a passion for coffee, the constant wonder (and challenge) of working in hospitality and everything else they’ve learned along the way, Aga and Jimmy created their own project: it was a dream come true, a dream simply called Sweven.
Thanks to a close collaboration with small talented coffee producers and to a sustainable business model that aims to take care not only of the environment but also of all the players involved along the way; thanks to their pursuit of delivering the finest coffee with friendliness while sharing knowledge and building concrete relationships that will last lifetime, Aga and Jimmy (and Sweven’s small team) have managed in just three years to become a pillar of the specialty coffee scene in Bristol.
